Wolcott Dog Park Makes Debut This Morning
The Wolcott Dog Park will open to the public starting at 10:00 a.m. today at 127 Mad River Road, Wolcott, CT which is next to Peterson Park.
The dog park, which spans about 1 acre, will give dog owners a chance to socialize their pets in an off-leash, fenced environment. The park is scheduled for an official grand opening in the spring of 2015, when all of the site work is expected to be finished.
During today’s soft opening, there will be a silent auction from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The winner of the auction will have their dog’s portrait and name painted on the dog park’s mural wall.
The park includes parking and two fenced in areas-one designed for general dog play and a second area for smaller dogs, puppies, or shy dogs. Both play areas will have a single, double-gate entry to ensure safety for pets and visitors.
Dog owners should bring their own water for themselves and their dogs.
