The Cat You Feed Outdoors

dreamstime_m_16771057If you love and feel sorry for a stray cat [or several homeless cats] enough to feed them at your doorstep, you should probably trap them and take them to the veterinarian for spaying, neutering and a rabies shot!! Legally if you feed an animal you are it’s owner or keeper.  You have the responsibility not only to prevent litters of kittens, but to protect the cats, yourself, and the neighborhood children from RABIES.  In some states, to feed strays without also obtaining rabies protection is illegal.  If you cannot afford veterinary care, contact a community animal welfare society or humane organization for fee help.
