600 Animals Rescued
The ASPCA is on the ground in North Carolina today, where a massive rescue operation has begun at the request of the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office. Nearly 600 animals, including over 270 dogs, 250 cats and 40 horses, were discovered living in a state of tragic neglect at an unlicensed animal rescue.

Our team was called into action after local authorities received numerous complaints of sick animals. The victims were kept in unsanitary kennels, pens and paddocks—often without adequate food, water or protection from the elements—and many are suffering from untreated medical issues. These nearly 600 animals are sick, scared and in desperate need of help.

Your Help Is Needed Now

We currently have over 130 responders on the ground, and the rescue will continue over the next several days. This is one of the largest animal seizures the ASPCA has ever conducted in our 150 years as an organization, and with hundreds of lives on the line, your support can make a critical difference.

The ASPCA is providing these animals with medical care, food and sheltering, and our goal is to help them become healthy and ultimately find homes. Your contribution today could not come at a more crucial time. Please help us give these and so many other innocent victims of cruelty and neglect a second chance at life. Don’t delay: Make an urgent gift to the ASPCA today.
